>> abc7 news starts right now with breaking news. >> we have breaking news, thanks for joining us. >> police found two people in a home would appear to be victims of homicide. our reporter is on the scene. police need help with the case, is that right? >> i can tell you that the police have their suspect in custody. they are calling this an active investigation. if you look over my shoulder you can see the home they are looking at. the house with the camper is the location of what police are now investigating as a double homicide. after 2:30 this morning officers responded to this quiet section

of tara hills drive. we have learned officers were met by the suspect who said their might be injured people inside. when officers want snowed they discovered the bodies of two residents and police have not released their names or ages but have told us the homicide victims are older. police arrested their suspect whom they describe as a 25-year-old resident of the home. we have learned that all three, the two deceased, and the suspect in police custody, are all related. we do not know the nature of their relationship. i have the command from the police department, commander, i know your detectives just arrived. what can you tell us? >> we had our search warrant signed by a judge and they are meeting with our evidence team and they will go through this slowly and deliberately and making sure that we obtain all the evidence that is necessary for this case. >> you told me that there is in immediate threat to the

community; that correct? >> correct, all "person of interest" are in custody. >> can you tell us the method the victims of the homicide? >> the need only i cannot release because of the sensitive nature of the investigation. >> you released a statement saying you were looking for additional information. do you not need information from the public, you have the people in custody you believe responsible? >> all persons of interest are in custody. >> but know that their detectives arrived and the coroner should be here in a matter of minutes and we know the crime scene investigator has alived who will take pictures and collect evidence. >> thank you very much. on the bay bridge closure day to and crews are work around the clock and here is a look from the yerba buena island camera where you can see the construction is underway. caltran says paving portions of

the new span is going well and he is work from overnight with crews pouring asphalt and smoothing the road. we go to the toll plaza on how the project is moving along. matt? >> we are 39 hours into the closing and you can see a lot of progress here at the bridge. according to caltran, everything is going according to plan. >> there is no staying in your line, driving on the bay bridge today. that is because there are still no lanes. our exclusive ride in the c.h.p. patrol car gave us a view of what you can expect when you hit the judge. c.h.p. for hill was impressed. >> the beauty of being on patrol is we get access to the roadways prior to anyone else so you are not the first public vehicle on there but the first vehicles to traverse the bay bridge. >> paving is about complete to the toll plaza. later today and tomorrow comes the striping.

>> everything is going kuwait -- quite well. >> a big chunk of the old bridge is gone and it should all be done by sunday morning with a temporary bicycle and pedestrian path put in tomorrow night. even tunnels need a good sandblasting and caltran is taking advantage of the closing by cleaning, painting and doing electrical work. >> taking the opportunity to replace the lights in the tunnels with the l.e.d.'s that last traditionally longer, from 10 to 15 years providing much better lighting.. >> the speed limit for the entire bridge is 50 miles per hour.

with the bridge closing other bay area bridges are picking up the slack. on san mateo bridge traffic is light and moving right along and there were a couple of crashes this morning that caused the traffic to backup but then it was smooth going a far cry from yesterday after major delays. >> it is official, riders have set bart records. yesterday was the third busiest day in 4--year history recording 475,000 trips on the first day of the closure. only the two giant world victory parades brought more riders. people packed in the trains and it could be busy over the holiday week. we recommend you give extra time especially if you trying to get to an airport. do not forget this is an amendment's game tonight and bears tomorrow and oakland pride this week. stay with abc7 news for continuing coverage on the

victims were here with crews performing cpr before push her to the hospital. the victim is elderly and had to be rescued from the fire. i talked with a young man on the scene. he says that this is his grandmother. she is in critical condition. another man is under observation. a third person got out okay without injuries. the fire department's first call to the scene at 8:30 this morning and they arrived minutes later to find heavy smoke and flames from the back of the house and they say their first order of business was to rescue anyone inside the house and the second order of bit was the firefight. >> we used a term "we risk a lot to save a lot." there are no more occupants. we have a heavy time roof, each weighs about 50 pounds. they falling down.

our tactic is to remove the firefighters from the hazard zone until we conduct the investigation. >> investigators looking into the cause of the fire and they do nut know what is happening in the house. they say it is possible that the grandmother was asleep at the type. crews will be out here for several more hours as the fire continues inside the house. we have another developing story in shows where police are vetting two separate officer-involved shootings. the first happened at 1:00 o'clock a.m. in east san jose on north king road when a robbery suspect tried to run over an officer with his car and the officer fired, wounding that suspect. the second happened before 5:00 a.m. this morning where an for shot at another robbery suspect at he refused to put down his gun and that suspect was not hurt and was taken into custody. >> happening today in sacramento a bill aimed at making

limousines safer after 9 delegate of five women in the bay area that were killed when a limousine burst into flames on the san mateo bridge in may. the bill calls for all limousines to carry two fire extinguishers and to make federal and state safety standards and for the limousines to be checked each year. >> 200 food and retail workers at oakland international airport are taking part in a strike protesting what they call unfair labor practices. workers have picketed outside the airport since 4:00 this morning and are fighting for better wages and benefits and have been in contract negotiations for the past year. their employer says passenger levels are down. in a statement to abc7 news, the host says "we have place add fair or on the table that reflects 9 economic conditions we are all facing." next, on abc7 news, tensions in
